Olive Garden’s ‘Sister’ Restaurant Just Opened — And It’s Turning Heads in Nashville

Darden Restaurants

A major new restaurant tied to Darden Restaurants — the parent company of Olive Garden — has officially opened its doors, and it’s already making waves in one of America’s fastest-growing food cities.

A New Fine-Dining Spot Lands in Nashville

The upscale steakhouse The Capital Grille celebrated its grand opening on April 17 in downtown Nashville, marking another big step in Darden’s aggressive expansion push.

Located at 1223 Broadway, the new restaurant spans 9,582 square feet and features a lounge along with two private event spaces, catering to both everyday diners and special occasions.

Guests can visit daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the restaurant serving its signature offerings right from day one.

What Makes This ‘Olive Garden Sister’ Different?

While Olive Garden is known for its casual Italian-American meals, The Capital Grille sits firmly in the fine-dining category. It’s famous for its dry-aged steaks, which are aged in-house for 18 to 24 days to enhance flavor and tenderness.

The menu includes premium dishes like bone-in ribeye, filet mignon, and New York strip — all hand-cut daily by an in-house butcher.

The brand is part of Darden’s high-end portfolio, alongside other upscale chains like Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Eddie V’s.

A Bigger Expansion Strategy Is Underway

This opening isn’t a one-off move. Darden has been on a rapid growth streak, with plans to launch 65 to 70 new restaurants between 2025 and 2026.

Most of those locations focus on popular brands like Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse — but the company is also doubling down on its fine-dining segment as demand grows.

Recent Capital Grille openings in places like Texas and Colorado show the brand’s footprint is expanding nationwide.

Why It Matters

The Nashville launch highlights a broader trend: Americans are still spending on premium dining experiences, even as casual chains compete on price and value.

For Darden, balancing both ends of the market — affordable meals at Olive Garden and high-end experiences at The Capital Grille — could be the key to staying ahead in a competitive restaurant industry.
